What is Gold Vermeil? (Pronounced: Vermay) Gold Vermeil is Sterling Silver that has been gold-plated, with 22K-24K gold. This is a good combination for those with allergy to normal, plated jewellery items as the base is Sterling Silver, so the whole is make of precious metals. In gold vermeil the thickness and quality of the gold plating is far superior to plating on base metals and will last much longer with due care.
